Christopher Dudley was born in Virginia and moved to North Carolina by 1712. Originally a resident of Chowan Precinct, North Carolina, he moved to Beaufort Precinct in about 1720. There in 1721 he accused Sighacka Blount, a Tuscarora man, of attacking his cattle. Dudley assaulted Blount, breaking Blount's arm. Dudley was charged with assault, but the outcome of the case was not recorded. By 1731 Dudley had moved to Onslow Precinct, North Carolina, where he served as a justice of the peace. He died in Onslow sometime before March 1746.
