Miles Moore Norton was born in South Carolina on May 18, 1812. A farmer, he also served as a notary in Pickens District, South Carolina and helped Anna Guest process her pension claim. He later served as a Captain in a South Carolina regiment of the Confederate Army and died during the 2nd Battle of Bull Run on 30 August 1862.
