Biographical Description

John Everett was a justice of the peace and politician from Martin County. He represented the county at the 3rd Provincial Congress and may have served as a major during the war. In the summer of 1777 he received some of the first depositions made by former members of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy and later served as a security on William Lewellen's bond after he was arrested for his involvement in the plot.
