Biographical Description

Thomas Ferguson was a resident of Pitt County, North Carolina. He enlisted in the North Carolina Militia during the War of Regulation. He served in the artillery and was killed during the Battle of Alamance on 16 May 1771. Following his death, his wife Ann Ferguson successfully petitioned the North Carolina Assembly for a widow's pension and was awarded one hundred pounds for the purchase of an enslaved individual for her personal use.
