Biographical Description

Ann Ferguson was a resident of Pitt County, North Carolina. In 1771 she lost her husband Thomas, who had enlisted in the North Carolina Militia, during the Battle of Alamance. Following his death, she successfully petitioned the North Carolina Colonial Assembly for a widow's pension and received one hundred pounds to put towards the purchase of an enslaved individual to help the Ferguson family. Any further information about Ann Ferguson, including her date of death, has not been located.
