Biographical Description

Lydia Bonner was born in Chowan County in about 1753. The daughter of a local judge, in 1774 she, along with her mother, and fourty-nine other local women signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. Later in 1775 Lydia married planter Joseph Blount Jr. and the couple had two children together prior to her death sometime between 1779 and 1782.
