Biographical Description

Joseph Kinsey was born in Craven County on July 27, 1858. He moved to Black Mountain in 1911, where he operated a grocery store. Having previously served as Craven County sheriff, Kinsey served two terms as mayor of Black Mountain. He died at his home on September 8, 1932.
