Morgan, Lonnie Washington

Biographical Description

Lonnie Washington Morgan was born in McDowell County on November 29, 1877. He was a longtime resident of Black Mountain, where he owned a general store and served as the town's mayor. He died in a car accident on January 17, 1919 while delivering mail to Blue Ridge (Henderson County).
