Biographical Description
John Lancaster Bailey was born in Pasquotank County, North Carolina, on August 13, 1795. Bailey was an attorney who served as legislator (elected 1824, 1827, & 1828) and judge of the Superior Court (elected 1836) for several years. He died at his summer home on Mount Mitchell on June 30, 1877.
