Biographical Description
Albert Hooker Proffitt was born in Yancey County, North Carolina on December 1, 1857. Proffitt was a Yancey County farmer who served as a commissioner in the appraisal of property condemned for the creation of Mount Mitchell State Park. He died in Yancey County on July 5, 1935.
