Biographical Description

Benjamin Heron (1722-1770) was a British mariner and colonial official who held several prominent offices in North Carolina: clerk of the Crown (appointed 1762), secretary of the province, and member of the North Carolina Council (1764-1769). He left the colony in 1769 and died in London the following year.
