My dear Mr. Hutchins,

The timber on and around the top of Mitchell's Peak must not be cut. I will write to Purley and Crocket. As I understand the law, the commission that I have appointed have the right to at once condemn and pass the title into the State. The price of the land condemned to be adjusted after the condemnation. See Mr. Watson and Bis Ray about this. These condemnation proceedings, it seems to me, should have been instituted long ago.
