Number eighty six nineteen. Commandant Camp Jackson SC advises men sent from Lenoir County indicates examining physicians particularly Dr. Albert D. Parrott not properly discharging duties as such. Some men sent to camp without undergoing physicial examination. Many men accepted whose diqualications too apparent to be overlooked. There appears to be no question from the facts presented that Dr. Parrott and the other physicians with this board either are guilty of gross indifference and carelessness or are incompetent, as their action in sending men to camp without physicial examination or with apparent physicial defects throws discredit upon the entire selective service system and places unnecessary expense upon the government in transportation, subsistence and other charges. Please make prompt investigation and if facts are as stated, the President directs that Doctor Parrott be removed from the board and the name of a substitute submitted. Please report your action
