Biographical Description
James Peter William Smith was born on August 4, 1852, in Randolph County, North Carolina. Smith was a traveling salesman who resided in Graham, North Carolina. In 1920, he provided testimony in an investigation into an attempted lynching in Alamance County. Smith died in Alamance County on January 20, 1924.
