Henry Bonner was born in North Carolina in about 1679. A wealthy planter in Chowan County, in 1728 he signed a bond on Chowanoke leader John Hoyter's behalf stating that he promised to prosecute the merchant John Sale in a debt case. Bonner later died in Chowan in about October 1738.
