Biographical Description

William Blackwood was born in Ireland in 1706 and was a resident of Orange County, North Carolina by 1755. In 1771 Johnston, along with several other prominent Orange County citizens, successfully petitioned for John Fruit to be pardoned for his role as a leader in the Regulator Rebellion. Blackwood died in Orange County in about 1772.
