Anne Haughton was born in Chowan County sometime between 1736 and 1754. In October 1774 she signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. The following month Anne Haughton married John Kennedy. John Kennedy died by 1776 and Anne Haughton died in Chowan County shortly after him, apparently without issue.
