Sarah Blount was born in Chowan County, North Carolina on 14 February 1747. She married local Scottish merchant William Littlejohn in 1771 and the couple had at least fourteen children together. In 1774 she and fifty other women signed a nonimportation agreement that later became known as the Edenton Tea Party Resolves. She died in Chowan on 10 October 1807.
