Biographical Description

Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson was born in Clarksburg, Virginia (present-day West Virginia) on January 21, 1824. Jackson was a West Point graduate, army officer, educator, and enslaver who served as a general under Robert E. Lee in the Army of Northern Virginia. He died at Guinea Station, Virginia on May 10, 1863.
