Ann and her daughter two two American Indians of unknown tribal origin. Ann's enslaver, the merchant mariner Blish put Ann and her daughter on a ship bound for New England in April 1713, intending to sell them, likely in Boston. Somehow however, Ann and her daughter escaped from the ship, possibily when it wrecks or otherwise ran aground. After a short period of freedom, Ann and her daughter soon found themselves enslaved by another North Carolinian merchant, Richard Sanderson, who sold them to New England enslavers. In July 1713 Blish brought a suit against Sanderson in the North Carolina court attempting to recover Ann and her child. Any further information about Ann and her daughter's fate has not been located.
