Durant, John (Perquimans)

Biographical Description

John Durant was born in Perquimans County on December 26, 1662. An attorney, he served as a member of the North Carolina Council and as an assistant justice on the North Carolina General Court from 1694 to 1695. He served again on the General Court from November 1697 until his death in Perquimans in January 1700.
