Biographical Description

Alexander Lillington was born in Britain and arrived in North Carolina by 1668. A lawyer, he held several offices in the colony throughout his career, including sheriff of Albemarle County, provost marshal, and member of the North Carolina Council. He served as a justice of the Perquimans Precinct Court in 1690, in which role he witnessed an American Indian man named Sanders' indenture to Juliana Laker. He later served as a justice of the Albemarle County Court from 1693 to 1694. He died in September 1697.
