Biographical Description

Born in North Carolina in about 1833. Parker Perry was an African American man employed by the U.S. government as a laborer during the Civil War in Portsmouth, Virginia. He remained a resident of Portsmouth, Virginia after the war and worked as a laborer and shoemaker. He died February 12, 1890.
