Biographical Description
John Fletcher Bruton was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina on May 29, 1861. Bruton was an educator, attorney, and banker who served as a member of a committee charged with overseeing relief funds for Western North Carolina survivors of the 1916 flood. He died in Wilson (Wilson County) on March 27, 1946.
