Biographical Description
Michael Hoke Justice was born in Rutherford County, North Carolina on February 13, 1844. Hoke was a Confederate veteran, attorney, and state legislator (1897, 1899, and 1901 sessions) who served as superior court judge for the eighteenth judicial district from 1901 until his death on February 12, 1919.
