Biographical Description

Elizabeth Delia Dixon-Carroll was born in Shelby (Cleveland County), North Carolina on February 4, 1872. Dixon-Carroll was a physician and educator who advocated for Progressive Era public health reforms. She was a member of the North Carolina Medical Society and served as president of the Raleigh Academy of Medicine and as president of the Raleigh Women's Club. She died in Raleigh on May 16, 1934.
