Edmund Randolph Preston was born in Hampden Sydney, Virginia, on June 5, 1880. Preston was an attorney and jurist who served as special assistant to the U.S. Attorney General from 1933 to 1938. He died in Winston-Salem (Forsyth County) on July 13, 1957.
