Biographical Description
New Berry McDevitt was born in Madison County, North Carolina, on December 23, 1876. McDevitt served as a legislator, as chairman of the Madison County Board of Commissioners, and as postmaster of Marshall. He often signed his name as "N. B. McDevitt." McDevitt died in Marshall on August 30, 1939.
