Biographical Description
James Henderson Weddington was born in Sugar Creek (Mecklenburg County), North Carolina, on November 17, 1845. Weddington was a Confederate veteran and businessman who served as mayor of Charlotte (1895-1897) and as a member of the state prison board (1901-1905). He died in Charlotte on February 2, 1922.
