Charles L. Nuchols was born in Maryville, Tennessee, on September 22, 1874. Nuchols was a prominent businessman associated with the Smith-Wadsworth Hardware Company and later the American Hardware and Equipment Company, both in Charlotte. He died in Charlotte on July 22, 1941.
