Biographical Description
Joseph John Bernard was born on November 9, 1859, in Pitt County, North Carolina. Bernard served on the Wake County Board of Commissioners, as bookkeeper for the central prison in Raleigh, as chief deputy of the Wake County Deeds office, and as the Wake County Register of Deeds. He died December 16, 1926 in Raleigh.
