Biographical Description

Catherine Marley was a resident of Guilford County, North Carolina. Following the Battle of Alamance Marley made a deposition in support of John Pugh, a prominent Regulator. In her deposition, Marley gave John Pugh an alibi for the Hillsborough Riot that happened in September 1770, hoping to help Pugh receive a pardon. She later resided in Randolph County, North Carolina and died sometime after 1794.
