Biographical Description
Marcus Lafayette "Fate" Burnett was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on May 30, 1844. (His death certificate gives his birth year as 1843 but his headstone lists it as being 1844.) Burnett was a Confederate veteran, farmer, and big game hunter. He died in Black Mountain (Buncombe County) on September 21, 1933.
