Robert Edward Lee Green was born in Lillington (Harnett County) on November 16, 1862. Green moved to Raleigh sometime in the 1890s, where he owned an interior decorating business for over fifty years. Green was elected vice president of the Carolina Prisoners' Aid Society in 1914. He died in Raleigh on December 26, 1947.
