Silas Ardrie Ewart was born on December 29, 1889, near Huntersville, North Carolina. Ewart was a Presbyterian minister who served the following communities in North Carolina: First Church, in Newton; Mulberry and McGee, in Charlotte; Cornelius and Bethel, in Mecklenburg County; Hollywood and Chicod, in Greenville; and Shiloh and Bethel, in Hoke County. He died in Hoke County on August 22, 1953.
