July 15th 1777.}
Jerosiah Everet came before us Justices Assigned to keep the Peace for the County aforesaid being Duly Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God deposeth & sayeth that being at Thomas Harrison Senrs House ^on the 4th instant^ he met with Daniel Legate who took ^him^ out to the Orchards & there Legate asked this Deponent if he could keep a Secret he answered yes, he then Swore him to keep the Same, this deponent saith he met Legate a Second time who swore him again & read the Constitution Legate them informed this Deponent that he was the Senior Warden for the Society the same day he was last Sworn he saw Samuel Black John Stewart, & William Brimage along with Legate a smal distance from where he was, Legate likewise told him he was to Oppose a Draft of the Millitia & further this Deponent saith not
