On this 13 day of September 1832 personally appeared before me Samuel Caldwell one of the acting Justices of the peace in and for said County Thomas Robinson a resident of the County & State aforesaid, aged eighty eight years of age, who being first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the act of Congress passed June 7th 1832 that he entered the service of the United States under the following named officers & served as herein stated (to wit) that being at the time & previous thereto a resident citizen of Caswell County State of North Carolina he enlisted into the Army of the United States in the Revolutionary war at in Caswel County under Capn Harden, of the Regiment commanded by General Green but his memory does not serve him as to the number of the said regiment. That said enlistment was for the war—that Hugh Barnet was his Lieutenant that he served in the Regiment commanded by Greene, until the close of the war, & was discharged by Capt. Harden at Hilsborow. Which discharge he has casually lost with great lapse of time. That during his servitude he was marched through the States of North Carolina South Carolina & Virginia, but was not in any general battle, but skermishes, with the tories. He States that he has no documentary evidence and that the knows of no person whose testamony he can procure, who can testify to his services. He hereby relenquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present, and declares that his name is not on the pension roll of the agency of any State, & that he is unable from bodily infermity to attend the Court.
