My dear Sir:
Your favor just received and I am of the same opinion as you and do not think it would be hardly safe to send the witness into Johnston county without protection and it is not my desire that he be sent but my jury of six good men seem to be persistent in hearing his testimony as a witness as they seem to think that possibly there might be some others implicated in the matter and possibly he might give us the facts as a witness.
I talked with Judge Peebles yesterday in the matter and he thinks that it be best that we postpone our final hearing of the inquest until a little later on so we have decided not to have it until Monday AM Mch. 9" at 10 o'clock. Criminal court will convene here on that day and the Solicitor will be here on Mch. 8" and I will lay the matter before him as to having Worth Sanders as a witness down here and if he thinks it best he can then notify you by wire otherwise we will not have him before us.
Yours very truly,
Jas. H. Kirkman,
Coroner.
