I know you will be gratified to learn that Madison County Commissioners have authorized a $300,000 bond issue for road work in that county, of which $50,000 is to become immediately available which can be drawn upon to assist in building the portion of the Central Highway through that Co., to supplement the work of the convicts, authorized by an act of the recent legislature.

I sincerely hope that Mr. Varner and the penitentiary board will be able to detail 40 or 50 convicts to Madison County at an early date.
